Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information The Ten ("we", "us") collects when you visit https://thetencommandments.net (the "Site"), why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Who Is Responsible for Your Data

The Ten is an independent Christian publisher and online store, and is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at any time about your data at thetencommandments7@gmail.com. We respond to privacy requests within 30 days.

2. Information We Collect

Collected automatically. When you visit the Site we automatically receive technical information about your device and visit: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, screen size, language, referring URL, the pages you view, and the time and duration of your visit.

Information you give us. If you subscribe to our newsletter or request a free guide, we collect your email address and the language you chose. If you create an account we collect your name, email address and profile photo from your Google sign-in. If you place an order we collect your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, and order details. We never see or store your full card number — payment is processed by our payment providers at checkout.

Usage and interaction data. We operate our own first-party analytics on this Site. It stores a randomly generated visitor identifier in your browser and records page views, clicks, scroll depth, the position of clicks on the page, session duration, and JavaScript errors. This is used only in aggregate, to understand which content is useful and to find broken pages. It is not sold and is not used to identify you personally.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our partners use cookies, localStorage and sessionStorage to make the Site work and to understand how it is used. Specifically:

Analytics and advertising cookies are not loaded until you allow them through our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page.

4. Third Parties Who Process Your Data

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers below, each for the purpose stated:

Several of these providers are located in the United States, so your information may be transferred outside your country. Where required, these transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

5. Advertising, Google AdSense, and Your Choices

We use third-party advertising services, including Google AdSense, to display advertisements on this Site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by Google at Google My Ad Center. You can opt out of some other third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu.

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we ask for your consent through a cookie banner before any advertising or analytics cookie is set, and we do not request personalised-advertising consent from users we can identify as under 16. You can withdraw consent at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer.

6. How Long We Keep Your Data

Order records are kept for 7 years to meet tax and accounting obligations. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Account data is kept until you ask us to delete your account. Analytics data is retained for 14 months and then deleted. You can ask us to delete anything sooner, subject to those legal obligations.

7. Your Rights

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland (GDPR): you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent at any time. Our legal bases for processing are: consent (analytics, advertising, newsletter), performance of a contract (fulfilling your orders), and legitimate interests (site security and preventing fraud). You may also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to request its deletion, to correct it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. Because we use advertising cookies, the use of those cookies may qualify as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CPRA — you can opt out by declining or withdrawing advertising cookies in "Cookie settings" in the footer, which is our Do Not Sell or Share mechanism. We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any right, email thetencommandments7@gmail.com from the address associated with your data.

8. Children's Privacy

This Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, email us at thetencommandments7@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly. We do not serve personalised advertising to users we know to be under 13.

9. Security

We follow industry practice to protect your information: the Site is served entirely over HTTPS, our database enforces server-side access rules, and access to administrative tools is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the Site changes. The "Last Updated" date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced through the cookie banner or by email to subscribers.

11. Contact Us
